Just had to experiment with some clothes – and Poser really hates me. But that’s nothing new. Converted Billy T’s Mod-Suit from M3 to V4 – and still lots of tweaking and post-work was necessary.
Next on the list (and by popular demand) is the Reno-Morph and I’m happy that I have such a bad influence on Arki that she came up with her Fox Hair XD.
On a complete different note – I’m afraid that at the end of this Semester I’ll have tons of Ego-Shooters installed on my machine. Only for studying causes of course. Mechanics of Gamedesign etc blabla… since ages I’m in the mood to waste my rare free time with gaming.
And I have to practice CSS and Halo. I’m such a loser at the moment.
One thing I really love about Poser, is the fact that it’s so easy to render an image Square-Enix would never show … ♥ ♥ ♥
The texture still needs some tweaking. Scars, and more scars and well – some scars. And if I’m absolutely crazy I’ll try my luck on a tattoo.
But before that I have to digg myself into my kanji-dictionaries again.
And maybe … if I’m all nice and do the puppy-eye thing and finish what I’ve promised Arki for today … maybe she’s so sweet and …
I’m making progress – slowly. And since I don’t have a copy of Advent Children Complete at hand, the only reference-pictures I can work with are some icon-bases I’ve made a few months ago.
Silly me deleted the screen-shots when I updated from XP to Windows7…
And the smexy band-aids are just a little bit distracting.
(Valentine should refresh his skills in first aid btw)
The result so far:
The lips are smaller now, the mouth was narrowed a bit. But I still have no clue what illegal substances were mixed in some coffees. The shapes of Tseng’s eyes are … strange.
I’m so glad that I don’t have to earn my money with the creation of poser-textures. And my respect goes out to all the people who do this for a living.
I had this strange idea yesterday – setting up a photorealistic render of Tseng. And at this point I hate Square Enix, Daz and the universe …
UV-mapping and me – a long story full of misapprehensions. Texturing… do we really have to start on this?
And Poser8 and me just became friends …
Coffee – check
cigarettes – check
This will be a long night.
Poser and indirect lighting is a chapter on its own. And if it wouldn't be such a pain in the ass, to transfer all the textures to 3dsmax I would stick to my dear Autodesk-program.
And while I wait that the indirect light is precalculated I sort my music collection. One of my classmates wrote a really nifty little program, that makes life a lot easier.
And a short update on life with windows 7: PC is behaving damn well. Although I really need a new graphic card and more RAM.
And since I'm just slightly crazy I know that I'll get my hands on at least 2 gig more RAM asap and will stick with maccaroni and cheese for the next weeks.

I hate Autumn!!! No, not really. But I hate the lousy weather. Working at the new job since November 1st and what happens? I catch a cold. And of course not one of the ordinary soon-will-be-over-colds.
I’m sure, the evil viruses just waited around the next corner for the right moment to attack me. Now I have a fever (not that high - lucky me Ó_Ò), have to cough a lot and feel miserable. Just wanted to let the world know about that.
On a more happy note (which doesn’t impress the fragging viruses a lot) - Arki goes wild. ^^
I believed her to be absolutely nuts, when I recieved her mail with the first wips of the dress, she’s working on at the moment. And as her betatester I can’t wait for the testing … on one hand. On the other … I’M SCARRED!!!
The cold has another positive side-effect: I finally finished the image I was working on. And I have a new album in my gallery, called Junk - the place for all the leftovers, I produce while working on images. Some of the stuff is just too good to throw it away. Feel free to use it in anyway you want - the album will contain mostly abstract renders and stuff I need for backgrounds.
Which reminds me of the fact, that I still have to adjust the css of the gallery. Sorry for the shitty apperance but I haven’t found the time yet. (Or lets say it this way: I wasn’t in the mood for it.) And I have to re-upload all my other images … *sigh*
music: 30 Seconds to mars // Message in the bottle
mood: exhausted …
I do have acctually a last.fm-account - so if anybody wants to know, what sick music I’m listening to … feel free to friend me. My username is Kabukichan (no surprise here ^.^)
And don’t wonder about the listed Tokio Hotel-Songs. To my own shame I have to admit they are not thaaaaat bad.
Besides listening to really strange music I work on a realistic skintexture in Cinema 4d. Shaders and even more shaders. Once I have figured out, how it works the best, I think I’ll put up a quick tutorial.
On a side note - recived a mail from Arki yesterday with a really promising wip - I find the time for betatesting, hon ^.^
And on to the next random thing. At DevianArt I recived a note, that there’s an ongoing Blade Runner Contest. (Details here)
Blade Runner is for sure the movie which influenced me the most. My lovely Dad showed it to me, when I was about 7 or 8 years old. Remember that my mom went crazy about it, telling him that I was way to young for it and that he’d messed everything up. In a certain way this is oh so true. Can blame Daddy for everything that was later going to happen.
Like my Anime-addiction, my love for strange Sci-Fi and that I feel most comfortable in Industrial Suroundings …
Just out of curiosity - do you have any certain movie or book that really has an influence on you?
… fangirl mode … still fangirl mode … evil fangirl mode … started to write fanfiction again … very evil fangirl mode… watched the original Weißkreuz and Glühen … serious braindamage … must go to bed … and not think about Aya’s choice of underwear …
And on a more serious note - nekojita, I lost your mail adress and squeeked in joy (really funny noise btw) when I read your comment ^.^ After all the stress with LJ I decided to leave the place for good.
Also, Aya 0.9.1 is finished … and nobody has to waste a second thought about his undies ^.^ At least not on this pic.
(ehr … next project is Yohji-kun … and the question about undies will be obsolete *cough*)
… to stick with the cheesy german titles they used for the Weiß Kreuz episodes.
Okay, I’m in fangirl mode. Can’t help myself. At Friday, when I waited for the train, I made my usual stop and *faints* found … *takes deep breath* the german translation of Weißkreuz Side B. *Squeek* Yeah, I know, they were published a long time ago.
But a) I was so fed up w/ the fandom and b) I hadn’t had any money for mangas.
Talking past tense here *cough*
Just can’t help myself, but the whole Weißkreuz-Thing got me into the stuff I love. Oh … all the smut *doesn’t blush*
And the best - Side B is awesome. Really like the style. No crappy images or animation.
And I had the inspiration for a new project, which I do when I’m not in the mood to paint.
First attemped on ehrm … eh … Ran/Aya is finished. Will work on it a little bit more tonight.
I know - sometimes I have really stupid ideas, and this is going to be one of them. Over the next few days (probably weeks) I’ll document my progress in modeling. Just to let you know - I’m still a complete n00b and this will be more or less a documentation of my own frustration.
But for now I’m so fed up with Poser. I have the feeling I reached the limits of the program - at least for myself. There are tons of images in my head. Certain Clothes, certain expressions, certain morphs … all not really possible with that program.
I am really fortunate to have such a talented friend as Arki who just rocks in texturing (No downplaying or I hurt you badly, Ma’am ^_^) and has helped me out countless times. And I can blame her ^_~
Because she kind of owns the character that causes all the frustration.
Never ever let two woman watch Final Fantasy - Advent Children together. It results in a catastrophe. Particularly if one of the two can switch in fangirl mode within a second (in this case … it was me *cough*).
The first result can be seen here.
But to return to the beginning of the post: I like the poser-morph … really. But it’s not exactly what I have in mind. Poser makes it impossible to tweak the eyes. And the facial morph isn’t quite right. And the clothes as well as the (not existing) jewelery are not fitting the image in my head.
Well, I try to change it …
I have coffee and cigarettes and a vague idea in my mind ^_^
… of an image.
It all started with the idea of a Final Fantasy-Fanart. A Sephiroth-image, to be precise. But me and Photoshop were on Warpath that night - and PS decided to crash without saving the nearly finished lineart.
Well, I was pissed.
And ended up working on my first custom morph. Tons of mistakes later I had a result I was satisfied with. But I wasn’t in the mood for just making another plain portrait.
So Cinema 4d had to suffer next. Not the worst, since I could practice modeling this way.
First result was a Kadaj in a can *veg*
The idea behind the can-thing is complex, and I will work on that further … but Arki’s here for a visit. And with us two at the same desk, the catastrophe is waiting right around the corner.
The result is a complete new Custom-Morph, lots of bitching about textures and a DNA-Helix …
The image on the right is Arki’s Doing … Blame her for the wings
Had quite a nice and relaxing weekend.
And watched one of the worst movies ever - still have to recover from the shock. But in my opinion, Queen of the damned sucks badly.
I really like the books by Ann Rice and I think that Interview with a Vampire is pretty good. Mainly because it’s directed by Neil Jordan. And it’s for sure one of Tom Cruise’ better movies.
But good thing - it inspired me to write again. And to make a quick illustration of one of the main chars.
Finished some images over the last few days ^.^ The Muse is kicking the door in and I am quite happy about it.
My mood is pretty good atm - back in the biz and hey, I manage to update my blogs. Keeping my fingers crossed, that it will stay this way.
Arki posted some new Images of Rico in Action. The bird, not the GUY. Like the Bird-grandma said: obviously a guy needs a beard down to his d*** ehr belly so you recognize him as a male. I just quoted Arki - this time I’m so innocent.
And she posted my prove of copyright-infringement over at rdna - to bad I can’t read the post. Darn, I was tired when I came up with that stupid idea ^.^
What else happened today?
Aural Candy posted the live reports from the J-Rock Revolution festival and I am soooo jealous.
Just can watch the videos at YouTube and snuggle my Wacken-Ticket … at least I’ll see Dir en grey … but I think I mentioned this already.
(Nobody mentions my sleep rhythm ^.^)…
Like I mentioned earlier, my muse is recovering from her vacation. And it’s all Arki’s fault.
It all started with me wanting to have a yakuza-like tattoo for one of my rpg-chars. But there were no decent textures for the Daz Millennium People available at any market place. And ehr … well, I suck at texturing those frigging models.
So I don’t know what hit the girl exactly, but she started to work on the texture. The final result can now be seen at runtime dna.
Kind of strange to know, that it’s my favorite shadowrun-character ^.^
Well, since she made the texture, I had no other choice than using it (Would be a shame not to do so). Lots and lots of Akira-renders followed. And now, since I have a long weekend I’m working on the rest of the crew (the revised versions).
Three are already done. Just plain portraits but everybody needs something simple sometimes.
Hrng … did I mention that I really hate the poser render engine? The whole program drives me nuts since I work with more sophisticated applications.
I’m now at the point that I only make the basic scene setup within Poser and the rest with Cinema.
Just a really quick example:
This was the first testrender w/ Poser. No lightsetting was changed, rendersettings as low as possible.
Took around 3 minutes. Original size. And well - looks crappy. I have enough experience now, to imagine where I could end up with.
Cinema 4d testrender. Alias set on best, originalsize, lights still on autolight … and guess what - rendertime 2:30 min.
Jeez, and people are asking, why I am bitching about Poser???
Okay, okay … I do now the hdri-render. And that takes slightly longer *cough*
And updated my Gallery. Hope that this time my Server doesn't crash right after I have typed something about the Update.
Full images can be seen at Solokuenstler
Sorry for the lack of information, but although it is 4:30pm I feel awfully tired and think I crawl back to bed now.
Okay, okay - I couldn’t resist … had to get the male on the mech. And don’t even think about the S-word ^.^
Oh, and I love shamless promotion, which I can do on my own site without having the fear, that the image gets removed.
The georgeous texture of the lady is made by Arki and available at Runtime DNA.
